Development Ideas that Work This site gives real world examples of Community Development Projects that were successfully implemented. The quality of the examples vary--some are more detailed than others. Review several examples to understand the scope of what is acceptable for a Community Development Project. The examples listed on this site are in "rural settings," but most are valid for urban/suburban settings.  This is not an exhaustive list of Community Development Project possibilities.

@Grass-roots.org tells the stories of the most innovative grassroots programs in the United States and the local heroes who've found effective ways to build their communities, fix what's broken and make them better. We hope you'll be inspired, and then we hope you'll decide to roll up your sleeves and get involved in your own community, be it in the U.S. or anywhere on Earth.

Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative A real world example of a successful Community Development Project. Your Project will NOT be as comprehensive--however--this is an excellent "big picture" example.  Refer to this example throughout the SOC473 Community Development course.

Do not overlook the "Browse the Directory" section--a wonderful listing of various "real-world" faith-based initiative projects.
