Grading Information
Format 50 pts.
This includes using the Socio-Autobiography Project Layout and the Socio-Autobiography Project Layout Descriptions listed below. Standard APA style and format is required for listing and citing sources (if any are used in this project).
Content 300 pts.
The quality of this paper is determined by the ideas and details under each heading. Quality is determined by actual concepts as well as clarity. The reader should be able to clearly understand each concept discussed under each heading.
Grammar, spelling, and sentence structure 50 pts.
Total 400 pts.
Points will be deducted for ANY work related to this Project that is submitted BEYOND the due date (and time) as outlined in the course syllabus. Also, points will be deducted for a substandard presentation of the Socio-Autobiography Project during the class session as prescribed in the course syllabus.

Socio-Autobiography Project Layout Descriptions
| Title | Use standard APA format for placing title in the beginning of the body of text. |
| Socio-Autobiographical Background | This is a general heading only. Detail will be included under the following headings: (a) early life, (b) education, and (c) socialization. |
| Early Life | Give a brief overview of the student's early life. Be sure to include place of birth and where the student was raised as a child. |
| History | Comprehensively describe the student's position/place/location in human history. |
| Education | Briefly describe the student's educational background. |
| Socialization | Describe and discuss experiences and ideas that were involved in the socialization process of the student. |
| Comparative Person Socio-Biography | Identify the
individual who was studied as a comparative example to the student's
socio-autobiography.
For the best results, select an individual who is at least 40 years older. An interview of the comparative person conducted by the student is required. |
| Early Life | Give a brief overview of the comparative person's early life. Be sure to include place of birth and where the comparative person was raised as a child. |
| Adult Life | Give a brief overview of the comparative person's adult life up to through present. Include the following information: marital status, offspring, vocations, locations lived, and areas of interest. |

become a sociologist and analyze. Discuss the differences between the
student and the comparative person. The use of sociological analytical
terms are required (such as roles, norms, sanctions, etc.).
Use at least two concepts/theories from the course lectures. Identify the theorists and clearly explain, discuss, and apply the concepts/theories to this section of the paper. Think like a sociologist---and more importantly---show the reader (through your writing) that you are thinking like a sociologist. This is the MAJOR section of the paper....illustrate that to the instructor. |
