Grading Information

APA Format 50 pts.

This includes using the Community Development Project Layout and the Community Development Project Layout Descriptions listed on the following pages. Standard APA style and format is required throughout this paper.

See instructor for specific instructions in citing sources (page numbers are always included).

Courier New font at 12 point size is required for this paper.

Content 400 pts.

The quality of this paper is determined by the ideas and details under each heading. Quality is determined by actual concepts as well as clarity. The reader should be able to clearly understand each concept discussed under each heading.

Grammar, spelling, and sentence structure 50 pts.

Total 500 pts.

Submitting the paper to the instructor:

A complete paper (two copies).
Included at the end of the instructor’s copy of the paper is an appendix of actual copies of the sources that are cited (including title pages). Highlight the photocopies of the actual sources to show the instructor where information was cited. See instructor for details.

A 3.5 floppy disk containing the word processing file of the paper (required in Microsoft Word).
All work must be personally handed to Dr. Bolender during the regular class session.

Community Development Project Layout Descriptions

Title Page	Use standard APA format.
Abstract	Use standard APA format.
Community Development Project: Title	This is a general heading only. Replace TITLE with actual title of the community development project. Use standard ASA format for placing title in the beginning of the body of text.
Problem	This is a general heading only.
Location of the Community	In a paragraph, describe the location of the community and why it is defined as a community.
General Characteristics of the Community	List and describe the general characteristics of the selected community (such as population size). This is a very important section. At least five sources are to be cited within this section.
Statement of the Problem	In a paragraph, state what is the problem that needs a solution. *Be specific*.
Background of the Problem	Discuss the background of the problem. This discussion should include macro issues that relate to the micro application.
Literature Review of the Problem	Review what the literature has to say about this problem. Your literature review might yield examples that are similar to the specific solution you are attempting to develop. *Cite sources where information is found. At least 10 sources are to be cited within this section.*
Plan for Solving Community Development Problem	Develop and present a plan for solving the problem. Remember to list and describe required resources for implementing this solution. *The instructor will be looking for creativity in this section.*
Proposed Solution and the Christian Worldview	How does the proposed solution fit into the Christian worldview? Develop a logical response to this question.
References	This paper requires at least *twenty* references to be cited in the report. These are in addition to the required textbook used in this course. *Only list references (sources) that are cited within the body of the paper.* Use standard APA format.
Appendixes	This paper requires at least one appendix. A required appendix will include *copies of the actual sources cited within this paper*. Appendix will need to have a title under the centered heading of Appendix. Use standard APA format.
Tables	Not required. Use standard APA format.
Figures	Not required. Use standard APA format.
