| 27. [CT] What are the professor's strengths and challenges as an educator? (Please be specific and identify which are strengths and which are challenges.) | |||||||||
| * The professor was extremely knowledgable in Sociology. He encouraged exeryone to become more familiar with terminology within the course. Seminars where exciting, interesting and always enjoyable. | |||||||||
| * We sold our house and bought a new one during the course of this class. There were many obsticles I faced due to not having a computer at times. My professor was more than willing to work with me to ensure that I could turn my work in and maintain my grade. Without that, I could have possibly failed this course. He was wonderful and I would love to have him as an instructor in future classes! | |||||||||
| * The professor, Ronald Bolender, needs to stop being to picky about the APA formatting. This is only a 100 level class; perhaps some of the students have not yet had Composition and therefore would not be able to format papers perfectly according to the APA style. Besides, APA is not going to take us anywhere in life; as long as credit is given to the source, it should not have to be letter perfect according to the APA manual. He should be more worried about what is written and if it is cited than if it is perfect! | |||||||||
| * The professor's strengths are his committment to helping students suceed and his genuine interest in our progress. The professor is great (there is no other word); Just great. He makes seminar interesting to the point that I, like many students, hated to see it end. I saw no challenges that the professor had as an educator; except us (his students). We tended to engage him in conversation beyond seminar time. It was hard to let go. The ability to make students want to learn and prolong class is a talent. The professor was great. No negative reviews here. | |||||||||
| * Very inactive in the seminar and responses in the discussion board were varied and numerous. | |||||||||
| * The professor was very knowledgeable and helpful. | |||||||||
| * I really liked how the instructor has us reading and referencing from our books during seminar and looking stuff up, it made for a better discussion, plus the instructor was interacting with us more. Our instructor was really helpful with other stuff such as our writing assignments and project. I feelt that the feed back was helpful and drove me to try to improve on my abilities. | |||||||||
