Day 6

Day 7

Day 8

Saturday, January 1
Queretaro to Mexico City
131 miles

Summary

Stop late in the morning for several hours to tour our first Indian archaeological site, Tula; then on to Mexico City where we'll remain until next Thursday. Saturday evening activities will include supper together at Sanborn's House of Tiles, walking through the Alameda Park, seeing the National Cathedral, National Palace, and other buildings on the Zocalo illuminated at night, and ascending to the observation deck of the Latin American Tower for a night time view of the entire city.

From Ronald Bolender's journal We left a quite Queretaro and headed towards Mexico City. But on the way we stopped at Quetzalcoati in Tula. It was interesting to see how the early people had a certain concept of God.

I drove into Mexico City and it was very different. It was as if there was an America right in the middle of Mexico. It was a contrast to the rest of Mexico.
