Pátzcuaro to Guadalajara
200 miles
Summary
Stop about 50 miles beyond Pátzcuaro at
Uruapan to visit a beautiful city park, and perhaps squeeze in a little
shopping; then on to nearby Paricutin Volcano, and finally spend the
remainder of the day traveling to Guadalajara.

Garry Voss is preparing to mount one of the
ponies that we "hired" for the day.
We drove into this village--finally found
someone who could speak Spanish--bartered a deal to "hire" twenty-plus
ponies to ride into the volcano area.
This was NOT a tourist stop.

It was a rough "walk" through the volcano
area. I think everyone wore out their shoes on the sharp edges of the
lava.
