Day 9

Day 10

Day 11

Monday, January 4
Mexico City

Summary

A very long and full day: begin early in the morning with a tour of Aztec ruins, the so-called Plaza of the Three Cultures; on to the Shrine of Guadelupe, the Patron Saint of Mexico; from there to a large leather factory to shop; and finally on to the Teotihuacan Pyramids outside Mexico City to spend the remainder of the afternoon and most of the evening.

From Ronald Bolender's journal We went to the Plaza of the Three Cultures. But one of the great things that I appreciated seeing was the Virgin of Mary at the new cathedral that has the world's largest seating capacity for a church. It shows how much importance the people place upon their churches as compared to themselves.

The great pyramids are definitely the thing to see in Mexico City.
