Dr. Ron Bolender has
created a Web site and serves as Web master for
the local Schnormeier Gardens. The site is located at
www.schnormeiergardens.org.
Ted and Ann Schnormeier began building the
gardens in 1996. Over the years the gardens have
grown to include 50 acres of manicured lawns, 10
lakes, a variety of discrete garden areas,
several waterfalls and an ever-growing
collection of unique sculpture. The focal point
of the property is a spectacular Frank Lloyd
Wright-inspired home. Other structures on the
property include a Japanese teahouse, garden
house, Chinese pavilion and arched bridge.
Dr. Rich Huebner, assistant professor of
business information systems, hosted special
guest and wife RoseMary Huebner from shipping
firm DHL in his classroom. As a project and
implementation specialist, RoseMary spoke to 25
MVNU juniors and seniors in a Management
Inforamtion Stystems class. She introduced DHL,
explained how DHL develops and adopts solutions
to meet customer needs and how the concepts
students are being taught are put to use in the
shipping industry and elsewhere.
Special Notes
World Vision selected two campuses
nation-wide to highlight for World AIDS Day.
MVNU was one of those campuses!
See what they wrote.
Thank you to Student Development staff
and student Brittany Dissinger for their
hard work in planning and executing events to
bring AIDS awareness and action to campus.
MVNU’s Acting on AIDS chapter continues to be
involved in activities throughout the year.
Dr. Jim
Radcliffe (’76), general surgeon at
Kudjip Nazarene Hospital in Papua New Guinea and
current Missionary in Residence at MVNU, was
selected to receive the 2007 Dr. Nathan Davis
International Award in Medicine. Presented by
the American Medical Association (AMA)
Foundation, the award is given to a domestic
physician for outstanding international service
in the areas of medical practice, medical
