Family Life Essay
Contest Winners

The Family Life Committee takes great pleasure in announcing the winners and honorable mention recipients for the 1999 Essay Contest. Each participating county has a winner who receives a plaque. His or her teacher receives money towards classroom activities or needs. In addition, there are honorable mention recipients who receive plaques for their achievement.

The students write an essay on "What My Family Means to Me". Teachers grade their class essays and submit the best two for the county awards. Awards are chosen by the county or, at the county's option, by the Family Life Committee. To date, 14 counties are represented.

Knox County: winner Laura Wade, Fredericktown Intermediate, Jan Reynolds, teacher, and honorable mentions Hollie Stone, Chase Bolender, and Lindsey Curry.
